Two city-centre developments could be closer to being granted planning permission, as both applicants have submitted further information as requested by Kilkenny Borough Council.
An application by Pat and Siobhan Mahon is seeking permission for a change of use from financial services office to retail shop/ coffee shop use at 1 High Street, Kilkenny, with a new fire escape door onto Pudding Lane.
An application by Michael Nolan, for a Listed Building at 1 High Hayes Terrace, off John Street and Wolfe Tone Street, Kilkenny, is seeking permission for alterations and extensions to the building consisting of a change of use of ground floor to retail (retail unit 1 incorporating store) and office usage together with new shop front and signage to the retail unit, change of use of existing first floor to office usage (incorporating two new windows to side wall), a two-storey extension to the rear incorporating retail (retail unit 2) to ground floor and office usage to first-floor level including access stairs and new shop front signage, associated and auxiliary internal accommodation, and associated and auxiliary site works. The application also includes retention of the current use of a section of the ground floor as retail.
The decision date for both applications is listed as December 9.
