The Wine Centre Kilkenny is celebrating this week having won three awards at this year’s NOffLA awards ceremony.

The small team of five from Kilkenny won ‘Best off licence in Leinster’ as well as ‘Most Responsible Retailer 2013’. The Wine Centre was also awarded an Excellence certificate to signify their consistency and quality of retail standards.

The awards ceremony, presented by the NOffLA which represents over 330 independent off licences throughout Ireland, took place at the Kings Inn, Dublin on January 28. The awards, which have been running for seventeen years, were developed by NOffLA to recognise and showcase the off-licences around the country that offer exceptional service to customers and demonstrate excellence in retail standards.

The Wine Centre’s manager Martin Kral was delighted to have won the awards.

‘‘Receiving an award from NOffLA at all is a wonderful thing, as there are only 10,” he said.

“It means we are recognised as a serious contender among our off licence peers. I’m ecstatic about winning best off licence in Leinster as it tell us we’ve worked hard in 2012 and it hasn’t gone unnoticed.”

NOffLA Chairperson, Evelyn Jones said:

“The last number of years, and particularly 2012 have been very difficult for the off-licence sector. What these awards demonstrate is that even in toughest operating environments; our members can maintain the highest standards when responsibly retailing alcohol and never fail to offer the best service to customers’’.

The Wine Centre is a fully stocked off licence selling an eclectic range of craft beers, wines and spirits. You will find the Wine Centre at 15 John Street, Kilkenny, phone 056 7722907 or on Facebook and Twitter.
