A STATE-OF-THE-ART maintenance facility is being developed by the National Roads Authority on the outskirts of the city which will create 20 new jobs, Mary Cody writes.
Work on the facility, which started last November is due to be completed by July. The overall cost of the project is in the region of €3.5 million. 20 people will be employed on a full time basis at the depot which will store 3,00 tonnes of salt. The NRA depot will serve all the motorways in the Southern part of the country.The development will consist of a salt store building, offfices, workshop areas and a large concrete hard standing area. There will also be access roads, a wash down area and a car park.At present there are approximately 50 people working on site.
