PUBLIC toilets in Graignamanagh and Thomastown will remain closed due to health and safety reasons.
The matter was raised by Cllr Sean Treacy (FF) at the last meeting of Kilkenny County Council. The councillor pointed out that the closure of the toilets in Thomastown and Graignamanagh needed to be address now that the tourist season is coming.
Director of Services, Mr Philip O’Neill told members that the toilets had been closed for a number of months for health and safety reasons. He added that they would not be re opening. Cllr Tommy Prendergast (Lab) told members that he was hopeful that a suitable location would be found in Graignamanagh shortly.
