A Garda motorbike was called to clear the way for the ambulance team as they left the scene. A full resuscitation team was put on standby at the Emergency Department of St Luke’s General Hospital.
When they reached the hospital, the ambulance crew handed over to another full team who fought for almost an hour trying to save the child’s life.
Gardai are appealing for witnesses to contact Kilkenny Garda station on 056-7775000, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800-666111 or any Garda station.
