It was a case of when Harry met Elvis.
Harry Potter star Daniel Radcliffe was in Dublin last week to attend the Irish premiere of his latest film ‘What If’. In the audience also was proud Butts resident Myles Kavanagh, who had tickets to the event with his wife Mary. They won a competition on Ireland AM, telling the story of how they met .
At the red-carpet event, Myles was the first audience member with a question for Daniel. To his delight, the actor made his way over to his seats, and after a kiss for Mary (which she described as ‘magic’), Daniel and Myles got to chatting, and Myles invited him to come and see the Marble City. Daniel apparently said he had heard Kilkenny and its people were lovely, and a visit was very much on his to-do list.
Daniel was also given a black and amber loom bracelet with Harry Potter charms on it. It was made for him by the Kavanaghs’ granddaughter, Faith.
