Kilkenny Rugby Club (RFC) have announced that rugby legend Brian O’Driscoll is coming to Kilkenny city on Saturday, September 20 in support of their annual Gala benefit night.

The Gala evening celebrating with former Irish and Leinster captain Brian O’Driscoll will be held in The Hub, Cillin Hill, Kilkenny at 7.30pm and already tickets are selling fast for what promises to be one of the social events of the year.

Kicking off the celebrations will be a champagne reception, followed by a four course meal.

The event will host an intimate question and answer session with arguably Ireland’s greatest rugby player and world rugby legend. O’Driscoll will be joined by a number of other sport stars on a unforgettable sporting evening.

The event is an important night for Kilkenny Rugby Club as the funds raised will go towards the upgrading of their dressing rooms, the provision of a new gym and flood lights on the main pitch in Foulkstown.

The club’s youth policy is bearing fruit with many of its under-age teams competing and winning at the highest level and investment in the club is essential if it is to produce more stars like Willie Duggan, Ned Byrne, Ronan Kearney and Ian Dowling,

O’Driscoll retired this year after an incredible Irish and International career capped off by winning a grand slam. President of Kilkenny RFC Gary Brickell says “it’s a great honour for Kilkenny Rugby Club to host a legend like Brian O’Driscoll and a great opportunity for the general public to this sporting icon in person.” Tickets and corporate packages are available on www.kilkennyrugby.com or phone 086 456 0656 or email events@kilkennyrubgy.com
