Houses evacuated in Fr Albert blaze

Emergency services at Fr Albert Place this morning.
Four fire units and Gardai attended the scene of a blaze at Father Albert Place in Kilkenny City this morning.

Four fire units and Gardai attended the scene of a blaze at Father Albert Place in Kilkenny City this morning.

The fire, which broke out shortly before 8am, was brought under control before 9am, but two houses had to be evacuated. Thick smoke was seen billowing from the rear of the building.

Gardai at the scene reported that no one was hurt in the incident. It’s understood the source of the fire may have been electrical.
