A LOCAL woman has been forced to move out of her home in a city estate after a series of anti-social acts were carried out on her house.
Peggy McBride has vacated her home of 24 years in Hebron Park after a fire was set in her bedroom recently, causing “a lot of damage”. In the past two months, windows in her home have been smashed in, as was the windscreen of her car.
She said the local gardaí, the council, the fire bridgade and Deputy John McGuinness have been “very good” in response to the incidents, but the house has now been boarded up.
“I am 56 years of age and I can’t even go into my own house,” she said.
The incidents have occurred since December, but she said she hadn’t had any trouble previously.
