Website to buy and sell school books

KILKENNY CBS Teacher John O’Neill has set up an online book shop allowing parent to trade or sell school books. Mr O’Neill described the price of school books as astronomical.

KILKENNY CBS Teacher John O’Neill has set up an online book shop allowing parent to trade or sell school books. Mr O’Neill described the price of school books as astronomical.

Mr O’Neill developed the website, www.schoolbooks4Ireland.ie, as a tool to allow parents by and sell school books from the comfort of their own home. Launched last week the site has already had over one hundred hits and has just been listed by google.

The site is non-profit and Mr O’Neill’s motivation is to try and help families that have been hit by the recession. Mr O’Neill said “We have always been told that our economy was built on the foundation of an educated work force. If students cannot afford school books we significantly diminish our hope for economic recovery.”
