A GALA dinner in Langton’s of John Street on Friday, January 27 will aid a new cancer support service in the city.
The night with Uptown Band promises to be a memorable one and there are still some tickets available from Martin on 0872651272.
Up to now Kilkenny has not had a dedicated Cancer Support Service and a new building has been acquired on Walkin Street for that purpose. Services offered will include confidential listening and support, counselling, massage, reflexology, relaxation therapies, breast cancer support, art therapy for both children and adults, meditation and yoga and stress management.
“This gala dinner will be the public’s way of supporting a fantastic service which will benefit all sections of the community,” Martin Brett said. He added the service had been sadly lacking in Kilkenny for many years and that it would provide cancer sufferers and their families with a boost during an extraordinarily difficult time in heir lives.
