A FREE seminar on how to access EU funding for community arts and culture groups will be the subject of a free seminar organised by MEP Nessa Childers.

The Seminar – “Creative Europe” – will take place in the Pembroke Hotel on Patrick Street on Wednesday and all are welcome.

“There is EU funding available for local community arts and culture groups and the purpose of this seminar is to show people how to avail of that money”, said Nessa Childers adding: “I would encourage as many groups as possible to attend.”

At the seminar, Nessa Childers, who is a member of the Culture and Education Committee in the European Parliament, will give the background to the funding and describe the work of the Committee.

Katie Lowry of the Irish Arts Council and Cultural Contact Point Ireland, will speak about current funding in Ireland while Shane Griffin, Parliamentary Assistant and Ms Childers’ advisor on the European Parliament Culture and Education Committee, will also speak at the event.

The seminar – which will be chaired by Ann Phelan TD - runs from 11am to 2pm and including refreshments and light lunch. Registration is free but participants should register in advance by emailing name, organisation and full contract details to Bronwen Maher at nessachildersmep@gmail.com.
