Independent TD Luke ‘Ming’ Flanagan will be one of the guest speakers at a meeting in Kilkenny next Tuesday, to discuss how the Campaign Against the Household and Water Taxes should progress into the future.
The meeting will take place in the Kilford Arms Hotel on John Street at 8pm. Deputy Flanagan will be joined by fellow Technical Group TD Deputy Clare Daly at the meeting, chaired by local activist Conor Mac Liam.
“The campaign to defeat the household tax has resulted in a magnificent boycott by almost a million people – the biggest such boycott in the last hundred years,” said Mr Mac Liam.
“Yet the Government and Phil Hogan are threatening to rachet up the pressure by sending out letters to non-payers. They’ve also promised new property and water taxes which the Sunday Business Post has estimated for the average family to be €500 and €570 per year respectively.”
All are welcome to attend the public meeting. For further information, see https://www.facebook.com/HouseholdTaxCampaignCarlowKilkenny.
