An application been made to turn the office space of the former Eircom building in Kilkenny city centre into a licensed restaurant.

Planning permission is being sought by Gerry Byrne, the proposed occupier of the premises and proprietor of the Left Bank, the Hibernian Hotel and the Blue Bar.

The planning application submitted to Kilkenny Borough Council regarding the premises located at The Parade, Kilkenny seeks permission for “the change of use of part of the ground floor of existing office building (previously Eircom building) to licensed restaurant. Permission is also sought for the installation of a new canopy to the front of the building. Permission also to include for all other associated site works.”
