THE Board of Management at Ringville National School in Slieverue has been granted permission for the demolition of a prefab building and the construction of a new standalone classroom and resource room.

The proposed building comprises a new classroom, toilets, resource room and entrance adjoining the existing prefabricated building. No objections were expressed to the proposed development during consultation.

Permission is granted provided that the finish of external elements such as roofs, windows, doors and walls are in harmony with the existing school buildings. Extra spaces for bicycles are to be provided as well.

In addition, the approval is contingent on the basis that the school upgrade its existing disabled parking bays, and retain the existing block wall boundaries and shrub/tree vegetation on the site, particularly along the rear and side boundaries.
