GARDAI have seized cannabis plants with an estimated street value of €160,000, close to the Kilkenny border.
As part of an on-going investigation into the cultivation and sale and supply of cannabis gardaí searched a premises at Moyne on Thursday. Cannabis plants with an estimated street value of €160,000 (subject to analysis) were seized. Moyne is located approximately six miles from Urlingford.
A 52-year-old man was arrested at the scene and is currently detained at Templemore Garda Station under the provisions of Section 2, Drug Trafficking Act 1996 in relation to this investigation. In a follow-up operation a 32-year-old man was arrested and is detained in Thurles Garda Station also under Section 2, Drug Trafficking Act 1996. Investigations are continuing.
