The people of Kilkenny have been asked to get out and vote for the Today FM Ian Dempsey Breakfast Show to broadcast from the city and country for a week this summer.

Kilkenny is currently neck in neck with West Cork in a battle to win the vote which closes at the end of this week. According to Miriam Donohoe, owner of MD Media which was awarded the Kilkenny Tourism pr contract this week, this is a unique opportunity to showcase Kilkenny and all it has to offer.

“We are appealing to everyone to get online on their smart phones, their ipads and laptops to vote for Kilkenny. It is as simple as clicking on a link (http://www.todayfm.com/Shows/discoverirelandvote2/ian.aspx) and voting. Also get your family, friends and colleagues at home and abroad to do likewise. It is going to be very close,” the Goresbridge woman said.

“Kilkenny and Cork have had many tight battles on the hurling pitch in the past, and this contest too will prove to be another close thing”. Donohoe said she and her team at MD Media, Siobhan Donohoe and Neans McSweeney, are delighted to be working with Kilkenny Tourism for the next year.

“As a passionate Kilkenny woman I look forward to helping promote Kilkenny as a must visit Irish destination. Kilkenny has it all – fabulous food, captivating culture, hot heritage, adrenaline-pumping adventure, and top class accommodation.” The link to vote for Ian Dempsey to come to Kilkenny is: http://www.todayfm.com/Shows/discoverirelandvote2/ian.aspx
