They’ve played at the Kilkenny Rhythm ‘n’ Roots Festival and now both Willard Grant Conspiracy and Gretchen Peters are making a return to our city this weekend.
And the good news is that they’re playing different nights so you can catch both. Grammy-nominated, Nashville singer and songwriter Gretchen Peters is at Set Theatre on Friday from 8pm.
Her work’s been recorded by a variety of stars across the world, among them Neil Diamond, Etta James and Trisha Yearwood. But there’s nothing like hearing Peters adding her own voice and emotion to the words she penned.
Then alternative country pioneers Willard Grant Conspiracy play Cleere’s Theatre on Saturday.
Ghost Republic is their first album since 2009 offering Paper Covers Stone and the first of entirely new music since Pilgrim Road (2008). It was written and recorded in Massachusetts by David Michael Curry and Robert Fisher of Willard Grant Conspiracy.
But it’s the live performance that truly wins hearts so make sure you stop by the local gig. Tickets for €20 are on sale at Cleere’s and Rollercoaster Records.
