Family and friends pay final respects to Mairead

A ‘happy, loyal, smiling, independent woman’ was how Mairead Moran was remembered at her funeral Mass at St Eoghan’s Church in Kilmoganny today.

A ‘happy, loyal, smiling, independent woman’ was how Mairead Moran was remembered at her funeral Mass at St Eoghan’s Church in Kilmoganny today.

Family and friends gathered as a mark of respect to the 26-year-old who was fatally stabbed outside her workplace last Thursday.

A minute’s silence was observed at the Market Cross Shopping Centre today and a book of condolences has been opened.

In a statement issued by the centre Mairead was decribed as ‘a very popular young woman, her warm personality pipping her natural beautiful good looks’.

“She set a standard of customer service to be admired... She greeted all with a hello accompanied with that warm broad smile she always seem to wear.”
