The 27-year-old man charged with the murder of Mairead Moran in Kilkenny last week did not attend his scheduled hearing in Cloverhill District Court today due to medical reasons.
Shane Smyth, Flat 3, McGuinness House, Evans Lane, Kilkenny, was medically assessed earlier this week and transferred to the Central Mental Hospital. The judge has remanded him to appear at Cloverhill District Court on Friday, May 30.
Mr Smyth appeared at Kilkenny District Court last Saturday charged with the murder of 26-year-old Mairead Moran in Market Cross shopping centre last Thursday evening.
