The trial begins today of a man charged with murdering a 25-year-old Kilkenny man in Waterford last year.

The trial begins today of a man charged with murdering a 25-year-old Kilkenny man in Waterford last year.

Tadhg Butler (34) aka Thomas O’ Grady, who is originally from Kilkenny but has an address at Seafield in Tramore in Waterford, will appear before Justice Patrick McCarthy and a jury of eight women and four men.

He is pleading not guilty to the murder of Michael O’ Dwyer in Waterford last year. Mr O’ Dwyer was stabbed to death in an apartment in Tramore on January 9 last year. He was originally from the Newpark area of Kilkenny City, but had more recently been living in Stoneyford with his family.
