Hurlers bare their legs for charity

HURLING legends Jackie Tyrell and Richie Power will brave a leg wax in aid of the children of Chernobyl.

HURLING legends Jackie Tyrell and Richie Power will brave a leg wax in aid of the children of Chernobyl.

David Herity, Eoin Murphy and Paul Murphy have also pledged their support and have promised to participate in the novel event which will take place in The Corner House in Bennettsbridge on April 14.

Beautician Lynda Joyce will be on hand with her waxing strips to help out and music will be by local DJ Derek Collins.

The event is fancy dress and there will be prizes on the night for best-dressed man and lady. The Liam McCarthy Cup is also expected.

Kilkenny Rose Sinèad De Butlèìr is behind the fundraiser. “The Chernobyl Children’s Project is a great cause and one that is very close to my heart. It is going to be a great night so I hope people come out and support us,” she added.

Admission is €2 on the door with food and music.
