There are a range of activities planned for the Drum Youth Centre as part of Stand Up! – LGBT awareness week against Homophobic and Transphobic bullying, which runs from March 11-15.

To mark the week, the youth committee in the Foróige Drum Youth Centre have organised a number of activities to highlight the importance of this issue to young people. These activities will take place during youth café on Tuesday and Thursday for third to sixth years from 4.15pm-6.15pm.

A ‘masquerade’ will take place, involving making paper-maché masks and decorating them. There will also be a poetry and short story competition with music, snacks and a prize giving.

The Youth Café is also open on Saturdays (2.30pm to 4pm for first and second year students, and 4.30pm to 6pm for third to sixth years). Services on offer during youth café include free internet, Wii, food, pool table, band room slots for young musicians and much more. All are welcome to come along.
