A flotilla and three magnificent bands for Graig parade

A FLOTILLA of barges on the Barrow, marching bands on High Street and the most authentic St Patrick are just some of the highlights in this year’s St Patrick’s Day Parade in Graignamanagh.

A FLOTILLA of barges on the Barrow, marching bands on High Street and the most authentic St Patrick are just some of the highlights in this year’s St Patrick’s Day Parade in Graignamanagh.

One of the organisers, Michael Carey said that the event will start at noon and will have something for everyone. “There will be prizes for most popular float, most original entry and businesses are also getting involved with a special prize for the best shop front,” he said.

One of the longest surviving musical groups in the country, the Graignamanagh Brass Band will perform along with the unique Ballycallan Fife and Drum Band and the melodic St. Patrick’s Brass and Reed Band from Kilkenny city. Everyone is asked to get involved and to support the parade this year.
