The Supreme Court has refused applications for injunctions stopping all in stream and near stream works on both the Ossory Pedestrian Bridge and the Kilkenny Central Access Scheme Bridge..

The court heard today (Monday) an application against Kilkenny County Council by Mr Christopher O’Keeffe.

The Supreme Court refused both applications for injunctions and indicated that they will issue the written judgement outlining the reasons for their decision in the coming days.

Kilkenny County Council have welcomed the decision and have stated that works will continue on both bridges.

As news broke at the monthly meeting of Kilkenny County Council the Cathaoirleach, Pat Millea said ‘the case is over, the war is won’.
