Fifth arrest in post office robbery

A male in his late teens has been arrested and is currently detained at Kilkenny Garda Station under the provisions of section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984 in connection with the robbery of a post office in Urlingford on Monday.

A male in his late teens has been arrested and is currently detained at Kilkenny Garda Station under the provisions of section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984 in connection with the robbery of a post office in Urlingford on Monday.

He was arrested in the Irishtown area of the city this morning shortly before 11am and is the fifth person to be arrested in connection with this.

The four other men, who were arrested in Freshford shortly after the incident, were brought before a special sitting of Kilkenny District Court last night charged with robbery. Three of them were remanded in custody while the fourth was granted bail with certain conditions.
