Kilkenny County Council looks set to appoint a new chief executive in the coming days.

Kilkenny County Council looks set to appoint a new chief executive in the coming days.

The elected members must now meet and decide whether or not to appoint the recommended person. Colette Byrne, who is currently the chief executive of Offaly Couty Council, if approved by the members, would become Kilkenny’s first-ever female council chief.

It is almost a year since the chief executive position was vacated by Joe Crockett.
