Race is on to fill Sen O’Neill’s council seat

A party convention of paid up Fine Gael members in the Thomastown area will be held on Thursday, June 9 to choose a successor to Sen o’Neill who won a seat on the agrticultural panel of the Senate election. Nominations for the position should be with party organisers by Thursday, June 2.

it is understood that four people have already expressed an interest in running including unsuccessful local elections candidate, Willie Barron of Graignamanagh. Others who could put their names in the ring are; Jane Galway, Bennettsbridge; John Meaney, Graignamanagh and Brendan Keogh, Gowran.
