A long standing Castlecomer pub, the Coalmine Inn is to be transformed in to three retail units according to planning files submitted to Kilkenny County Council.

A long standing Castlecomer pub, the Coalmine Inn is to be transformed in to three retail units according to planning files submitted to Kilkenny County Council.

The planning application made by Melridge Inns Ltd is seeking permission for an extension and change of use to the premises formerly known as the Coalmine Inn.

Permission is sought to change the premises from a bar and kitchen to three retail units.

The works will require modification to the roof on eastern elevation and the provision of two new shop fronts, new windows and shop front to northern elevation, new roof to single storey section of northern elevation, widening existing gateway, creating paved courtyard at the square in Castlecomer.
