St Stephen’s Day brings different feelings to different folk, but one feeling in common to several hundred in fact, is the urge to join in the Annual St Stephens Walk in Gathabawn. This charity event, now in it’s 13th year, follows a varied route over the scenic Cullohill Mountain taking in parts of the Binnenea Loop and the, soon to be launched Gathabawn walk.
The many trophies won by the Kilkenny Hurlers in 2011 will be on display outside Mackey’s Bar. This year, the Group have selected two local charities, to share the funds. They are the Carlow Kilkenny Home Care Team and the Community Alert \ Development Team; Sponsorship cards are available from Group members (email@example.com) or you may donate on the day.
The 13.Km walks sets off from Gathabawn Village at 12pm with registration beforehand. Hot soup will once again be available, free of charge to returning walkers by kind donation of Glanbia ,Ballyragget.
The Group would like to thank all their sponsors, supporters and walkers over the years and wish everyone a Happy and Safe Christmas with an enjoyable walk to follow.
