JUDGEMENT has been reserved in the High Court action taken by embattled principal of Kilkenny City Vocational School, Cathy McSorley against her dismissal from the post by the Minister for Education, Ruairi Quinn.
The long-running legal saga of Ms McSorley’s tenure at the school and attempts by the VEC to remove her is running into hundreds of thousands of euro and the three days in the High Court over the last two weeks will add considerably to that figure.
Both sides are confident of winning and Judge John Hedigan is expected to give his judgement in the new two weeks. And at that stage, Ms McSorley or the Department can appeal the decision to the Supreme Court.
