As many as 15 staff will be leaving Kilkenny County Council at the end of this month under the Government’s early retirement scheme.
One person retired from the council in January, according to information from the Department of the Environment, leaving a staffing level of 529 positions, or “whole-time equivalent” staff.
As it stands, 15 people have put their names forward for the early retirement scheme, according to the council.
“Fifteen people have put their names forward, although final number won’t be clear until end of month as some people may change their mind,” a council official said.
