ANOTHER cannabis grow house has been detected in County Kilkenny, This time the location was Urlingford, just off the main Cork-Dublin motorway in a residential house, writes Sean Keane.

ANOTHER cannabis grow house has been detected in County Kilkenny, This time the location was Urlingford, just off the main Cork-Dublin motorway in a residential house, writes Sean Keane.

Last week gardai discovered E3 million worth of the plants at a premises in Piltown in the south of the county.

A man in his 20s was arrested by gardaí during the latest seizure worth an estimated €320,000 (subject to analysis). He is being held at Kilkenny Garda station under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996 and he can be held for up to seven days.

Detectives said the operation in Urlingford was part of an ongoing investigation into the supply and sale of drugs but would not say if it was linked to the Piltown find or an earlier seizure in Mooncoin, nine months previously.
