Locals show their class in carriage driving championships

Several locals competed in the All-Ireland carriage driving championships that were held in Rathdrum, County Wicklow, earlier this month.

Several locals competed in the All-Ireland carriage driving championships that were held in Rathdrum, County Wicklow, earlier this month.

Amy Manogue and her groom, Padraig Manogue, of Ballymack, Cuffesgrange was the winner of the open pony class. Also competing was Jer Hennessy of Kilmanagh, who came from 13 points behind to win the open horse pairs championship. Amy’s boyfriend, Marlín Spillane of Cork, won the open pony pair and the best score of the championships, which saw him being presented with the Boland Cup.
