The Iverk Show on September 15 was attended by the ICA’s national president, Liz Wall, who was welcomed to the ICA stand by newly elected Kilkenny Federation president Shirley Power.
Ms Wall announced plans to partner with the Irish Suicide Or Survive (SOS). The organisers vowed to work together to raise awareness of mental-health issues in Ireland and to educate all generations in matters related to wellness.
The ICA and SOS will fund wellness workshops in Kilkenny, with all guilds asked to host an event in their local area.
The next Federation meeting will be hosted by the Clogh guild today (Wednesday) at 8pm. The produce promoter, arts and crafts promoter and contest secretary are working on arranging classes on November. Contact Rose Harris for details.
The Kilkenny Federation’s weekend at An Grennan takes place on November 9-11. There are some places left; contact Breda McDonald.
