Six men are expected to appear before a sitting of Waterford District Court this morning (Wednesday) charged in connection with a Garda investigation into organised crime.
Gardaí in the South Kilkenny / Waterford area investigating organised crime carried out a number of searches and arrested six people on Monday morning.
The operation was launched from Thomastown Garda Station, and six men in their late 20s to early 40s were arrested and were detained in Thomastown, Waterford and Wexford Garda Stations under Section 50 of the Criminal Justice Act 2007.
A number of items were seized during the operation.
Investigations are continuing.
