AN UP AND COMING singer/songwriter is well on his way to success having penned a song for the National Song Contest.
Robert Grace (20) from Graignmamanagh is following a well worn tradition of music in his family. His father Danny and uncle Bob are part of the popular band Keltic Kats who performed for President Higgins recently and were praised for their charity work. The youngster is no stranger to success having won the longest running songwriting contest in the country, The Glinsk songwriting contest. He also won the Ballyhoura Community Radio songwriting competition. His uncle Danny said that the entire family were delighted for him. “It is a great opportunity for him,” he said. His father Bob added that he hoped to get tickets for the Late Late Show to be there to cheer his son on. “It would be brilliant to be there. Half of the vote is a public vote so I hope that everyone gets behind him.”
17-year-old Aimee Fitzpatrick will perform Robert’s song ‘Crashing Down’ on the Late Late Show on February 22.
