A group of eight Transition Year students from Kilkenny College are competing in this year’s F1 Schools Challenge on the March 7 in Griffith College Dublin.
Their task is to design and build a Formula 1 car and present a detailed portfolio along with the car.
Their team is made up of Hugh Ronaldson (team manager), Peter Sunderland (marketing and communications), Alan Dowley (manufacturing engineer), Nigel Smyth and Richard Bailey (graphic designers), Harry O’ Neill (resource manager), David Lynch and Robert Marino (team substitutes).
Their team, Team Raptor, closely works together to design, analyse, test and race the miniature scale F1 model. Among their sponsors are M&A Coaches, JVW Transport and Stonebrook Pet Farm.
