This year’s Anzac Day celebrations led by a group from Castlecomer will include an official dawn service in St Canice’s Cathedral on April 25 at 6am.

In addition to Australians, New Zealanders and Irish people living locally, the ceremony will include representatives from the 18th Royal Irish Regiment.

As has become tradition in recent years, Castlecomer will then host Anzac Day celebrations on April 28. The day will include Australian and New Zealand music, food such as Anzac stew and Anzac biscuits, Australian rum and more, plus some local Irish culture.

Organisers are looking for local Australians and New Zealanders to take part in the event. Anyone interested in joining in is asked to contact organiser Andy Korff on 083 1006846.
