The Kilkenny Campaign Against Home and Water Taxes held a protest outside Labour TD, Ann Phelan’s constituency office on Patrick Street on Saturday, as part of a coordinated campaign of local demonstrations around the country.
“Labour have shown themselves to be the enemies of working people in Ireland, and we will not let them off the hook over this unjust Property Tax,” said Kay Brennan, campaign PRO.
“They are cracking under the pressure of their angry constituents with five Labour TDs having jumped ship already.”
As letters from Revenue land on people’s doorsteps around the county, the campaign responded by delivering 100 postcards to Ann Phelan on Monday. The postcards carry the message ‘Axe the tax, or watch your vote collapse’.
