A number of local solicitors are offering an initial will consultation for just €50 as part of a nation-wide charity initiative which will raise significant funds for a host of very worthy appeals.
Con McDonnell solicitor, who is based on 11 Patrick Street is one of a number of solicitors in the city taking part in the initiative which offers the discounted consultations as part of the ‘Best Will in the World’ week fundraiser. Worthy charities such as The Alzheimer Society of Ireland, the Jack and Jill Foundation and others will benefit.
Best Will in the World Week is an initiative run by Mylegacy and takes place every October to highlight the importance of leaving a gift in your will and the difference a gift in your will to a charity can make, McDonnell explained.
“During Best Will in the World Week, solicitors across the country such as myself offer an initial will consultations for a fee of €50.
People interested in making their will, or updating an existing will, are asked to consider leaving a gift to their favourite charity once loved ones have been taken care of,” he added.
It’s the second year that the Cork-born solicitor, who has been established in Kilkenny for two years, has supported the charity fundraiser. Other participating Kilkenny solicitors are Kearney, Roche & McGuinn Solrs, Bass Solrs, James Harte &Son, Mary Molloy Solr, David M Dunne & Co Solrs and Holland Condon Solrs in Castlecomer.
“We believe that this campaign gives people the opportunity to get cost effective, practical and impartial advice on will making easing practical and financial issues for loved ones later on. We encourage people to consider leaving a gift to their favourite charity,” said Susan O’Dwyer of Mylegacy.
