Kilkenny County Council may still be in the dark about the possibility of illuminating Grannagh Castle, but one local councillor is hoping to shed some light on the subject.
Cllr Tomas Breathnach (Lab) said at this month’s council meeting that he had got in contact with the Office of Public Works (OPW) this month to try to clarify the issue.
“I am hoping to identify the criteria they are giving for not allowing lighting on Grannagh Castle,” he said, and by doing so the hope is that the council can meet the necessary criteria to allow lighting to be put in place on the South Kilkenny structure.
