School of the Holy Spirit welcomed a very special guest in the guise of Brigid Comerford from Comerfords Garage Ltd in Ballycallan last week, to present the junior and senior soccer teams with Azurri kitbags for upcoming soccer competitions.
Comerfords’ generous sponsorship has paved the way for the school’s teams to travel in style to forthcoming matches. Welcoming Ms Comerford to the school, Principal Karen Lowther paid tribute to the generosity of Comerfords, especially in these tough economic times.
The teams’ trainers - Colin Breheny, Keith Sweeney and Trish Cody - were also lavish in their praise for the interest and generosity shown by the Comerfords, and reiterated how such kindness is pivotal to ensuring that soccer thrives in the school.
Soccer continues to go from strength to strength in the school, with almost 30 students making themselves available for training and selection for games.
Ms Comerford emphasised how important field sports are for children, and said that she was delighted to play a role in ensuring that the school are well attired for upcoming events.
School of the Holy Spirit have already competed against schools like CBS Primary School, Kilkenny College, the Model School and St Kieran’s College this year. The next time that the school takes the field, there will be no doubt that the plastic bags will be made redundant.
