A WALK in memory of Susie Long will be held in Kilkenny Castle Park at noon on Sunday, the fifth anniversary of her death.
Her family, friends and those who got behind her campaign – including RTÉ broadcaster Joe Duffy – will take part in a fund-raising walk in her memory to raise money for a hospice for the people of Carlow-Kilkenny. Late registrations will be accepted on the day.
Susie Long Hospice Fund chairman Tommy Roche is appealing to the people of Carlow-Kilkenny to get behind the hospice. “The people of the region have shown tremendous generosity in donating to the hospice since the fund was established after Susie’s death five years ago. We’ve raised a massive €617,000 to date but we need to keep up the hard work to ensure we see this project through. We will not rest until there is a hospice in Kilkenny in Susie Long’s name,” he said.
