Plans to turn the former Piltown creamery into a community enterprise centre have been submitted to Kilkenny County Council by Piltown Community Enterprise Centre Ltd.
The group is seeking an eight-year planning permission for a change of use from a former creamery to use as a Community Enterprise Centre.
The plans seek permission to raise the existing ground level of the site and the existing ground-floor level of the former Creamery Building to above flood level; remove two annexes to the former Creamery Building, construct a two-storey extension, undertake renovations and alterations to the existing building and the construction of a mezzanine floor level over part of building; construct a separate two storey building on site for use as office/enterprise units; and to construct a separate single-storey building on the site for use as a retail unit and workshop.
The building is a proposed protected structure in the Piltown Local Area Plan.
