Engineers Week, an annual campaign to promote engineering as a career and the importance of the profession to Ireland, is taking place from February 25 to March 3.
On February 27, Engineers Week is coming to Kilkenny with the arrival of a show called “Move It,” a fast-moving show exploring the forces that are so important in allowing us and everything around us to move. There will be dramatic demonstrations, interesting ideas and loads of audience interaction. Discover how propellers and rocket engines can push us forward and how friction and air resistance can hold us back. Attendees will out how to inflate marshmallows using just the pressure of the air. Travel to a world with little friction on an amazing hovercraft and witness the explosive power of rockets.
The “Move It” events are open to the Kilkenny public at 9.45am, 11.15am and 12.45pm but those wishing to attend must register in advance through www.engineersweek.ie. The venue is Langton Hotel Kilkenny, 69 John Street, Kilkenny.
Engineers Week will run from February 25th to 3rd of March with activities taking place nationwide. The week is coordinated on a national basis by Engineers Ireland as part of the STEPS programme which is a strategic partner of Discover Science and Engineering (DSE).
