Fly-tippers will be caught - Brennan

People involved in illegal dumping in the north Kilkenny area around Loon will be caught and held to account, local councillor John Brennan has said.

A number of incidents in recent weeks have seen plastic bags and rubbish thrown by the roadside and in open dykes. In one incident, a bag of rubbish left in the middle of the road almost caused a traffic accident.

“Kilkenny County Council has been active in the last few weeks in terms of identifying the culprits involved in this disgraceful behaviour,” said Cllr Brennan.

“I have been assured that CCTV has been put in place and that anyone involved in this type of anti-social behaviour will be caught, and the full rigours of the law applied.”
