THERE was constructive debate and agreement by skaters and residents that a planned skatepark should not be located in The Closh in the heart of the city.

THERE was constructive debate and agreement by skaters and residents that a planned skatepark should not be located in The Closh in the heart of the city.

Councillors had previously given the green light for the facility at The Closh, which is in a settled residential area despite massive opposition from people living in the area who cited the location as unsuitable. Yesterday (Tuesday) evening at a packed public meeting both sides agreed that they wanted a skate park for the city’s youth and that The Closh was not the preferred option by either.
