A WOMAN who admitted having heroin in her possession on two separate occasions had her case adjourned for the preparation of a probation report at Kilkenny court.

A WOMAN who admitted having heroin in her possession on two separate occasions had her case adjourned for the preparation of a probation report at Kilkenny court.

Nikita Fahey, 4 McAuley Place admitted the offences which took place at the Johnswell Road on February 23, 2010 and at New Building Lane on February 16, 2010.

Solicitor Michael Lanigan told the court that his client had struggled with his addiction. “She managed to get clean for a period and then did a two-year course in beauty therapy until a tragic event happened and her boyfriend died in tragic circumstances. She took this very badly and started using again. She is trying to get on a local methadone programme and in the meantime she is liasioning with the local drugs counselling services,” he said. Judge David Anderson adjourned the case for the preparation of a probation report to February 14.
