KCK alumni begin pro rugby careers

Two past pupils of Kilkenny College past pupils have begun their careers in professional rugby in the top flight of the sport in England and Wales.

Two past pupils of Kilkenny College past pupils have begun their careers in professional rugby in the top flight of the sport in England and Wales.

Robin Copeland (class of 2006) has joined Cardiff Blues (from Rotherham) who play in The Rabo Direct Pro 12 League. The 6’5” and 16 stone flanker scored 11 tries in 20 games for Titans in the championship last season.

Meanwhile, Foster Horan made his debut for London Irish against Munster in August, with the Exiles having a comprehensive win in Musgrave Park. London Irish play in the English Premiership.

The 19-year-old Horan joined the English side on a six-month trial having been released from Leinster this summer. He was a standout player in the Junior World Cup in South Africa earlier this year, when the Ireland under-20s achieved their highest-ever World Cup position.
